Jokowi Conducted Eid Salah at City Hall

Jakarta Governor Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo and wife Iriana conducted Eid ul Fitr 1435 Hijri salah at City Hall, Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan, Central Jakarta, Monday (7/28). There, they blended in with hundreds of Jakarta Provincial Government’s civil servants and officials as well as Jakartans who live around the City Hall.

Wearing koko shirt and black pants, Jokowi arrived at City Hall at 6.15 AM. The salah was started at 7 AM. Acted as the salah leader was H Syahril Ali Basyah, while KH Lutfi Fathulloh was the preacher. In his speech, Fathulloh reminded all civil servants and officials of Jakarta Provincial Government not to do corruption and eradicate it.
After salah, Jokowi held open house also at City Hall. In that occasion, he said that he conducted Eid salah there because he was asked by Jakarta Provincial Government corps.

Meanwhile, at the hallway, hundreds of people were queuing to shake hands with Jokowi. Before entering the City Hall, those people had to pass tight security checks performed by Presidential Security Detail (Paspampres).
